REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar announce 15 more dates for their highly anticipated co-headlining summer tour, “LOVE ON THE RUN,” it was announced today. Two legendary rock voices, Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon, team up for their “LOVE ON THE RUN” cross-country summer tour, kicking off at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on June 24th.

“We are so excited to continue to add dates to this tour to bring the combination of REO and Pat to as many fans as possible,” said Kevin Cronin, lead singer of REO Speedwagon. “Since talking with Neil Giraldo and Pat about the idea of touring together, we have just been incredibly amped to get on the road and the more fans we can entertain, the better.”

Kevin Cronin has said: “REO and Pat Benatar toured together in 1995 and we all had a blast. I ran into Neil Giraldo in the neighborhood last year, and we talked about getting the bands together again…so here we are. Both REO and Pat Benatar share a history of hits, a family oriented approach, and a continuing desire to rock hard and have fun doing it. We embrace and take pride in our past achievements, while we are all about growing as artists and keeping our standards high. We intend to prove it every night on stage with the ‘Love On The Run’ tour.”

“LOVE ON THE RUN” will bring the songs of these two historic rock bands to stages all across America. Their music will take fans back to their early ‘80s explosion onto the Billboard charts, where both artists enjoyed #1 and Top 10 positions for the better part of the decade; and will carry on through their career with music that continues to define their excellence in song craftsmanship and performance. Warrant Working on New Album

Warrant are working on the follow-up to their 2006 album Born Again. In a statement, the band said they haven’t been around much because they’ve been “holed up in the studio working out the finer points of a brand spankin’ new Warrant album.” The guys are expecting it to hit shelves in mid-summer. For three years now, a documentary about late guitarist Randy Rhoads has been in the works and it seems it might be coming out soon. A ten minute clip from the film leaked online this week, but was quickly removed after a cease and desist order was issued by the production company. As yet, there are no further details on the flick, which will trace Rhoads’ life from his youth to his time in Quiet Riot to his days with Ozzy Osbourne.

Violence at Metallica’s Colombian Show

Metallica played a huge concert in Bogota, Colombia on Wednesday and according to ColombiaReports.com at the show, “violence and chaos” broke out. Apparently, hundreds of frenzied fans tried to crash the band’s first Colombian concert in 11 years and during the melee, property was damaged, three people were stabbed, a policeman was injured and over 50 fans were arrested. The trouble still occurred even with 15-hundred police officers working the event. Media sources vary on the number of concertgoers with some reporting that 20-thousand were in attendance and others 70-thousand. Metallica play in Caracas, Venezuela tonight.

Maiden’s singer and a licensed pilot, for the past eight years, Bruce Dickinson has also had his own radio show on England’s digital radio station BBC 6 Music. On the program, Dickinson introduced some classic metal tunes and interviewed big names in music. However, according to MusicWeek.com, due to an overhaul of its digital services, the station has pulled the plug on Bruce’s program. Bruce’s final show will air in late April.

Pearl Jam announced a Midwest and East Coast 11-date tour yesterday. The band will hit the road on May 3^rd in Kansas City and wind down on May 21^st at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Before the jaunt, the guys will perform at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 1^st. Pearl Jam will also perform at various European festivals this summer. Alice in Chains are currently on the road, touring behind their latest album, Black Gives Way to Blue. However, even though they are promoting their newest record, there are many songs in their back catalog the group hopes to play live too. With only a few hours each night to perform, it makes creating a set list a not-so-easy task, as singer William DuVall explained to us.

“One of the more complicated things is writing a set list for this band. Having done it, there’s a really difficult calculus there. There is. Between trying to balance all the records and trying to pace a show and trying to factor in guitar changes and tuning. It’s no joke. It’s a good problem to have though.”
