Pearl Aday Spreads Happiness in Hard Times

Rock singer Pearl Aday has been around the music business her entire life. The daughter of legendary rocker Meat Loaf, Pearl has seen the ups and downs of the industry herself. She has a decade of touring experience under her belt with Motley Crue and her famous father, as well as recording with Filter and Ace Frehley. Pearl recently released her debut album, Little Immaculate White Fox, and in an interview with Long Live Rock on Blog Talk Radio, she explained why now is the right time for the album despite the slow economy and sluggishness of the music business overall.
“This is the first time I’m doing this. Maybe looking at it from a business perspective, it’s not the best time to try and put a product out,” the singer acknowledged. “It was just ready, and I’ve been ready to do something like this. I’ve been wanting to do something like this forever. I don’t know if it sounds cheesy, but maybe in a bad economy, people are looking for something to pick up their spirits and just have fun with, and that’s just the kind of music that we’re making right now.”
Pearl recently toured the US headlining clubs, and she said the experience was encouraging in a time when many major acts are having to cancel shows and even scrap entire tours. “The response that we got from the crowds coming to the shows was just, ‘Thank you so much for coming.’ Especially places like Rockford, Illinois and Appleton, Wisconsin . . . places like that, they were just really appreciative, and really had a blast. That’s what makes it worth it to me. It’s so much fun, and that’s the reason I do it; to let it all out, and to have a good time and celebrate rock music. People need it.”
Pearl will be opening for Meat Loaf starting in August, and Little Immaculate White Fox is available now.
