Because Bono suffered a back injury rehearsing for U2’s upcoming tour dates, the band had to pull out of their headlining spot at England’s Glastonbury Festival. Then, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page hinted that they might fill in for the Irish rockers, telling British paper The Sun, “I refuse to rule anything out.” Add to that singer Robert Plant previously saying “it would be amazing” to play Glastonbury this year and fans wound up with some high hopes. However, those hopes have all been dashed as festival organizers announced Gorillaz will replace U2 at the concert, which takes place June 23rd to the 27th.
