Mustaine Talks About Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Monday and so far, this year seems to be without much controversy. The same can’t be said of last year’s inductions, when Metallica did not invite former guitarist and current Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine to join them. Mustaine told us about his status with Metallica these days and his thoughts on the Rock Hall.
“Ah, well we don’t really talk too much. I did talk to Lars [Ulrich] about the whole Hall of Fame thing and, you know, it was unfortunate that they saw it that way. I believe that I wrote the songs and I should’ve been inducted. Lars told me my name wasn’t on the record, or that I didn’t play on the record and therefore I didn’t qualify and, as far as I know, my name is on those records. But I’m going to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame anyway so it doesn’t matter. And if not, then the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn’t matter.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Monday in New York City. Genesis, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, The Hollies, ABBA and others will be honored there. For more info, head to RockHall.com.
