Premiere: Jeff Beck and Joss Stone, “I Put A Spell On You”

FROM WWW.SPINNER.COM:

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Jeff Beck has been enjoying a comeback of sorts. The guitarist kicked off 2010 by earning his fifth Grammy Award for a live instrumental version of the Beatles‘ ‘A Day in the Life’; in February, he performed a series of sold-out arena dates with his peer — and one-time rival — Eric Clapton; and between dates of his upcoming world tour, he’ll appear at a number of US festivals, including Bonnaroo.

For his studio remake of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins‘ classic ‘I Put a Spell on You,’ Beck enlisted the vocal talents of Joss Stone, who certainly brings her young old-soul pipes to the table. But the real spell is cast when Beck cuts in with his weathered blues hand — with guitar playing this sharp, it could indeed rip new holes in the Albert Hall.

The track is from Beck’s new studio album, ‘Emotion & Commotion,’ which drops in April. But you can stream the track right here, right now in this exclusive preview at http://www.spinner.com/2010/03/09/jeff-beck-i-put-a-spell-on-you-joss-stone-song-premiere/
