Tom Scholz Impersonator Scams New York Promoter

FROM WWW.CLASSICROCKMAGAZINE.COM:

Boston mainman Tom Scholz has revealed that someone recently tried to impersonate him.

Talking to Pulse Radio, the guitarist said that the unnamed person wanted $5,000 for what was claimed to be a Scholz solo show. The musician apparently swindled a New York club promoter out of the money – although the performance never took place.

Scolz said: “Over the last few years, I’ve seen countless examples of con artists trying to make deals, pass themselves off, or sell tickets to unsuspecting fans by using the name Boston but this is the first time I’ve seen someone actually use my personal name as a come-on.”

Scholz also went on to insist that there will be no live dates this year, from either him or Boston.
