During the American Music Awards last month, CNN caught up with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and the network has just uploaded footage of their interview. In the clip, Perry talks about the band’s future, revealing that they are indeed looking for a new singer to replace Steven Tyler while he takes some time off to work on what Steven called “brand Tyler.” Joe said they have a short list of possible vocalists that they’re speaking to, which may include Josh Todd of the band Buckcherry. Perry added that he hasn’t talked in depth with Steven since the South Dakota concert in early August when Tyler fell off stage and hurt his shoulder, putting a halt to the band’s tour. Perry concludes by telling amateur singers to send tapes to his manager and to keep up to date on things by following him on Twitter. You can do that at Twitter.com/AdmiralPerry and you can see the CNN video at CNN.com.
