Timothy B. Schmit Talks About ‘Expando’

by admin on Oct.28, 2009, under News

FROM WWW.CLASSICROCKREVISITED.COM:

This news is brought to you by VH1 Radio’s Dave Basner

Timothy B. Schmit from the Eagles has ventured out on his own with his new solo album, Expando.  The 11-track set features guest appearances by a wide range of people including Graham Nash, Kid Rock, Dwight Yoakam and The Blind Boys of Alabama.  Timothy told us he is pretty pleased with the final result.

“The great thing is that after all these years of doing this and being in this business and having the ups and downs – mostly ups I have to say but there were some periods – but after all of these years, I’ve got something new going on.  New and exciting.  And that’s the cool thing.  It’s like I’m not just doing oldies, I’m not just doing this or that.  I’m actually doing something new and it’s like a new adventure for me.  It’s really great.”

So with his focus on his solo career, does that mean the Eagles are done?  Thankfully, no, as Timothy explained.

“We took a break.  We were working roughly every other month for quite a long time and we decided to just take a little break.  It happens to be good timing for the release of my album because I could spend some time doing that, but it is just a break and some time next year, there’s talk about the spring but I’m not certain, but we’re going to be up and running again.  We are not finished yet.”

However, just because the Eagles aren’t finished, doesn’t mean fans should expect a new album.  Schmit elaborated.

“The new album thing it takes so much work and so much time and energy, I don’t know if we’ll ever do a new album but I’ve learned not to predict those kinds of things because I have no idea, anything can happen.  So there is no album planned, but there is general touring plans, I just haven’t got any dates yet or anything.”

Pick up Timothy’s solo album, Expando, which is in stores now.  Learn more at TimothyBSchmit.com
